The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau was established in1981 to foster and develop volunteerism in our community The Center addresses four areas – promotes volunteerism, capacity building for effective local volunteering, provides leadership on issues relating to volunteerism and connects people with opportunities to serve.  Our mission is to foster excellence and leadership in volunteerism through programs, services and support.  The Center plays a vital role in the lives of seniors, youth and our at risk citizens and continues to focus on Impacting Strong Communities through Community Engagement.  Evidence indicates that volunteerism encourages a sense of belonging, identity, respect and accomplishment which can have a lifelong impact.  Strategic partnerships and collaboration with like-minded community based agencies and funders such as United Way Leeds Grenville  will ensure the Volunteer Centre continues to play a vital role in the social and economic well-being of our communities.
